What is VOC?

The Benjamin Moore website states "Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are carbon-containing chemical compounds that readily evaporate into the atmosphere. Common examples of things that emit VOCs into the atmosphere include gasoline, mineral spirits, alcohol, nail polish, and paint."

VOC regulations have been established to control indoor and outdoor air quality across numerous industries in an attempt to protect the environment and peoples' health.

Benjamin Moore Aura and Natura paints have been developed to meet or exceed the LEED (leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) criteria for enironmental safety and the Green Seal (R) GS-11 standard.

Benjamin Moore's specialized Color Lock® refining process removes odors from the resin system of the paint, with emissions released within 4 hours (v. 24 hours for most paint), making the time you can move back into a room after painting much shorter.

Learn more about VOC laws and regulations by visiting the Benjamin Moore website.
